I started this site in the effort to trace my Irish roots as far back as possible. There are so many Brandon's that came to the U.S. from Ireland when my ancestors did, that it has proven to be a monumental task. Complicating it further is the fact that it appears that all Brandon's of that time seem to keep recycling the same first names. Some maiden names of wives were Cashore, Manning, Sigler, and Armstrong. Which also seems to be common to give as a middle name to one of the children. I am looking for anyone with records or family bibles such as I have to help "fill in the blanks". I will start with the oldest ancestor that I know of and work forward to myself. On the following pages, my direct ancestors are shown with a number before their name that indicates the generation. I have used census, social security, gravesite and birth record databases to help fill in some missing pieces. Some, as I will note to different degrees, are guesses.
(5) Gerard C. Brandon (b. abt. 1804 or 1819) - 3rd Great Grandfather
Emigrant ancestor from Ireland and had six children.
(4) John Clark Brandon (b.10/31/1839) - 2nd Great Grandfather
Had nine children and apparently a lot of time on his hands.
(3) Gustavus Barton Brandon (b. 02/18/1878) - Great Grandfather
Had two children.
(2) Edward Clark Brandon (b.05/11/1919) - Grandfather
Had three children.
(1) Living Brandon (b. Private) - Father
Had two children and one was me.
(0) Vincent Edward Brandon (b. 1969)
I think I am a living Brandon.
